The Tuxedo Historical Society

Our Mission

We foster awareness of the community's heritage by collecting, preserving and exhibiting materials and presenting programs that document life, past and present, in the Town of Tuxedo and its communities. Our goals are to find ways to stir up interest in the community, increase our membership and funding, and keep the community involved and informed.

The Tuxedo Historical Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization formed in 1982 and located in the former historic Tuxedo National Bank Building, Tuxedo Park, NY 10987.

Exhibition Currently on View: "Tuxedo on the Map" Sundays 1 - 4 pm

Over two centuries of local maps are on display, from George Washington’s Continental Road and the Cheesecock patent lands, right up to the latest proposed revitalization plans for Tuxedo. See how the Town, Village and Hamlet have changed with maps from successive years showing individual properties and the owners’ names with some houses originally built as stables, ice houses and fish hatcheries!  Aerial photographs are also on exhibit of before and after the Thruway construction.
